How to Hear God’s Voice : My First Encounter

This was my first encounter with God.

I’ll admit it, I didn’t even know if it was really real or possible. All I longed for as a new Christian was to be able to hear God speak back to me, as many do. But as more advanced Christians and those further along in their faith say, it really takes a lot of time spent with Him. Spending time with Him; sitting still; quieting our hearts, opening our ears; and being intimate with our Father.

Last Thursday, May 17, was the first time I heard God speak back to me. And I’m so excited to share it for the first time with anyone, here on my blog!  I was at my sister’s office, working, since she runs a non-profit for orphans in Africa. She is SO close to God; one of my inspirations. She teaches me a lot and always used to ask me before I believed, “So, how is your way working so far for you?” And she was right. So that day in her office, I asked her, please teach me how to hear His voice.

First thing, there are 3 things/voices that we can hear while trying to connect with God, she explained:

  1. Human Spirit (Flesh): What WE think we want
  2. Holy Spirit: This is God speaking. If this lines up with scripture, it was God speaking. If it doesn’t, it was not God. God will always confirm what he says to you. It can come through a random commercial, signs, words, but if you want to be positive it’s Him then ask– he ALWAYS confirms. You will become better in time, and learn to discern the voices better. It becomes more clear and easier meeting with Him in time because your relationship is so much stronger.
  3. Demonic Spirit: Thoughts that are UNHEALTHY and have NO AUTHORITY! Sad, depressed; these are lies being told, causing feelings of being upset; feeling dark; and against the word. These are lies from the enemy.

My sister has many spiritual gifts. One of them is helping people hear God’s voice.  She tore out a piece of paper from her notebook and said okay close your eyes. She invited God into our presence. I instantly felt calm. It was almost impossible to explain.

She asked me to write down, “God, what do you have to say about me?” Then she asked me to close my eyes. While closing my eyes, I didn’t hear a clear loud voice. but I wrote down what I felt and heard in my head.

Warrior. Strong. Unite. Bring hope and peace.

Those are the words He spoke to me. The next question she asked that I wrote was, “God, how can I become closer to you?”

I closed my eyes but started scribbling fast, answers I couldn’t come up with that quick, and I looked at the paper and I wrote: Stop cursing, stop using My Son’s name in Vein, especially in public, pray, and worship.

“God, what will my life look like?”
Wrote down: Completely different. Ministry. Hope. Angels are always around me, my body, with their hands on my shoulders.

There was one question that my sister asked, and I said two answers. One was God; the other was the flesh. She asked me, was the second one the flesh? And we both knew it was.

My sister gets visions and dreams, and she said she felt two hands only my shoulders, the Angels. As we ended worship, we invited God to stay with us the entire day, never leave, to be still and have it not end there. God wants this 24/7, so we gave the day to Him. We prayed for the Kingdom of Light to advance power in speaking and help those who are captives to the enemy. Like I was.. (Like we all were at one point before.)

So, anytime a new Christian wants to hear Him speak back or confirm something, write it down! And then ask for a confirmation, be patient. Of course we all want to see an Angel float in and talk to us, but they are in another realm and dimensions that we cannot see, but it is here, next to us. It’s so awesome. If only our ears were pitched different, we could hear the Angels singing around us. If only our eyes were open to the spiritual realm, we would be seeing the constant battle between satan and the angels fighting for us. One day, when we get to Heaven, all will be explained. For our human minds can’t comprehend things so deep now.

Left Behind

What happens to those who are “left behind” when millions vanish? Do you know where we went? Heaven.

After the Rapture: I want to save my loved ones, who will be left behind. With an anti-christ ruling, with demons, they will endure pain and suffering. But Jesus comes a SECOND TIME to save those who decide to believe. They will have to deal with the consequences for not believing at first; but it’s better than eternity in hell.

What is The Rapture?

There are 2 phases:

The first phase will be a “secret Rapture” – or carrying away of the saved to heaven– at the beginning of a 7 year period of tribulation, during which the antichrist will appear.

In the first stage of the Rapture, the Lord comes for His church (his people).

At the end of the tribulation period, He comes back with His church (his people). At this event “every eye shall see Him,”

Although at the Rapture, Jesus will come “as a thief” and only believers will see Him.

The second phase occurs at the time of Tribulation when Jesus will return to Earth in triumph and glory, later on. (Aka, Jesus’ Second Coming!)

At the Rapture, God will descent bodily in the air for his saints, both for the dead and for the living. This will take place 7 years prior to the Revelation of the Second stage of Jesus’ coming.

My greatest fear before becoming a Christian was being left behind. Being raised in a Christian home, I heard about The Rapture often. It always intrigued me. I remember hearing many Christians who will come to faith after Jesus’ first coming; they could be killed if they are who are left on earth if they refuse to receive the mark of the beast; a chip symbolizing you are going to hell. But Without the chip, you cannot buy, sell, work, or do anything. The antichrist and government will say the mark is smart to track people and for money, easier transactions, less paper. But don’t fear; God will provide for those who are Saved during the hard times.

Sooo.. What else is there to know about the Rapture?

We’re getting closer and closer to it. Look at Israel, the deal with nuclear warefar in Iran, children disobeying their parents; all prophecies in the Bible are coming true, political warfare, Trump, etc.) But until every soul has heard the word Jesus, He will not return. (Hence missionaries, going out to spread the message so he comes to save the world soon).

All saved Christians will be removed from living on Earth during the Rapture; They will rise. In the a milli second; like a thief in the night; that fast, we will be gone.

It will be the greatest miracle in the history of mankind; Jesus will descend from the clouds

Millions of Americans & Christians from other countries will rise to meet Him. They will disappear from the face of the earthand never be seen again by those who are left behind.

The government will say anything to reduce chaos; blame aliens for taking us up, but please know the truth. We did not just not vanish.

What about the those who are left behind?

As glorious as the Rapture will be for us Christians who are saved.. The state of the billions of unsaved people will be truly frightening.

There will be many people who will claim to be the Messiah and also claim to have the answers for a troubled world. In Matthew 24, Jesus gave a warning specifically for our generation. In this passage Jesus, speaking to us, warns us that false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even elect.

We must be on guard and ask ourselves who these sinister false prophets and messiahs are. The Bible warns us that these are no ordinary men. In the End Times, people will be crying desperately for leaders to deliver them, and they will seek mystics and religious leaders who claim to have deeper knowledge.

From the prophetic books of Daniel, Ezekiel and Revelation, they have concluded:

“There will be mass disorientation as those left behind try to make sense out of the sudden disappearance of tens of millions of people.” (Alien attacks? The government will come up with anything).

Maybe, someone looking for answers, since Bibles will be burned after His First Coming. will find this. I hope you do.

A 7 year period of disturbance and destruction called The Tribulation will follow the Rapture. Most denominations teach that it will follow immediately after the rapture. (Boy I’m glad I’m not gonna be around then. And hey, you don’t have to either).

The Antichrist (I’m sure will be charming, a potential World Leader/President) will rule the world. “He will come from Europe, gain political control of the world (perhaps by gaining control of the UN), and make peace with Israel.”

Later, he will attempt to destroy as many humans as possible; Concentrating on the Jews, and new Christians, who will have been saved and came to faith since the Rapture.

If you have been left behind, it’s NOT too late to be saved. How amazing; one last chance. Once you have entered the Tribulation period… RECEIVE Jesus, the Christ, immediately; believing that He died, was buried and rose again 3 days later for your sins and mine. Only by receiving Christ and by the Spirit of the Holy Spirit in you, can you understand all that is going on.

You may have missed the Rapture… but you don’t have to go to Hell; that choice is yours. To die without Jesus Christ as your Savior is the worst thing you can do. Jesus IS coming down a Second time for new Believers after his First Coming.

If you don’t choose to believe in Him, seeing all the Christians gone, proof in the Bible, I feel so sorry for you, but I kinda don’t. Here’s what you’re looking at, directly told from the beginning of the time from the Bible: Everything in that book has COME TRUE. No scholar can dispute it to this day.

God will take his wrath out on all non believers. Read below, to find out what these wrath consists of..

The first 6 seal judgments are unleashed in chapter 6 of Revelation and are comprised of the following:

• First seal (vv. 1-2) – the Antichrist is let loose upon the world
• Second seal (vv. 3-4) – wars begin and peace is lost
• Third seal (vv. 5-6) – famine breaks out
• Fourth seal (vv. 7-8) – the ultimate result of war and famine, which is death
• Fifth seal (vv. 9-11) – persecution of God’s people, which brings more of God’s vengeance on the world, but not until their evil has been filled up with the last martyr’s death
• Sixth seal (vv. 12-17) – a great earthquake along with other celestial upheavals

The breaking of the seventh seal occurs in Revelation 8 and marks the second wave of judgments, the trumpet judgments.

The first 6 trumpets are comprised of the following judgments:

• First trumpet – 1/3 of earth, trees, grass is burned up
• Second trumpet – 1/3 of the sea creatures die and ships are destroyed
• Third trumpet – 1/3 of the waters polluted and many die
• Fourth trumpet- 1/3 of the sun, moon, and stars are darkened
• Fifth trumpet – Locusts/demons are released to torment people
• Sixth trumpet – Four bound demons are released to kill one third of humankind with an army

The sounding of the seventh trumpet proclaims Christ’s soon coming and ushers in the last and final series of judgments, the bowl judgments.

Confirmation that the vial judgments occur late in the Great Tribulation is given in the record that the first vial judgment falls on those who are worshipers of the beast’s image. This image apparently is established in the early part of the last half of the 7-year period preceding the second coming (13:14-17). Almost everyone seems to comply with the demand that all men worship the beast and receive his mark. 🙁

The only ones who escape the judgment are those who have refused to obey the edict of the beast, the few individuals who trust in Christ in those evil days.

Whereas many of the trumpet judgments affect 1/3 of their target, the bowl/vial judgments are more comprehensive in their effect.

They are the most severe of all judgements, and the final ones.

  • 1st vial: Horrible sores on those with the mark of the beast

  • 2nd vial: Everything in the sea dies

  • 3rd vial: All the waters are polluted

  • 4th bowl: The sun burns and scorches people

  • 5th bowl: Brings complete darkness over Antichrist’s kingdom

-This judgment resulting from the pouring out of the 5th vial is directed to the throne of the beast and his subjects

-As in both in both judgments, there is also pain and torment.

-The wicked in their suffering are declared to gnaw their tongues for pain, a description of severe agony.

-The sores inflicted in the first vial were, in this judgment, aggravated and increased.

  • 6th bowl: The Euphrates dries up ; the kings of the East come, and the scene is set for the battle of Armageddon

  • The final and 7th vial: Produces a great earthquake; cities of nations fall; a huge hailstorm occurs

The final judgment will result sin a judgment of Almighty God that destroys the entire world system and judges all unsaved men severely. But even though enormous hailstones fall, the unregenerate still refuse to repent. This judgment is so devastating that it prepares the world for the coming of Christ to set up His earthly kingdom.

These seal, trumpet, and bowl judgments of Revelation teach several important truths…..God’s end times and eternal wrath are inevitable, they can’t be stopped by anyone or anything.

Lastly, there is a way to escape God’s wrath before it comes.

There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus”. Believers will not face judgment, because their sins were judged when Jesus died in their place on the cross.

I hope you learned anything out of this. Don’t hesitate to ask questions. It may sound crazy; but when you experience God, when you have divine interactions; you know He is real. When you feel the Holy Spirit inside you– You know it. Just seek, ask God, say his Name. And you will have His love forever.

How to Deal with Anger

How well do you deal with anger in your life?

I chose to blog about anger today because that’s pretty much the only thing my day has been filled with. Where does anger stem from? I don’t know about you, but I hate fighting. I hate drama. I really don’t like lashing out or hurting people; and I especially don’t like people saying mean things or giving me attitude either. I think today God has thrown me a curveball, to see how I could cope and deal with anger. And I gotta say, I’m not doing so well. (God never wants to see any of us upset or in pain or angry; but we have free will. That isn’t to say God “started” this argument; I believe as a Christian now, my reaction should have been more powerful than my anger did. And it left me feeling terrible)

I’m sure plenty of you deal with feeling angry sometimes too. How do you deal with it? In romantic relationships, in families, and friendships; it’s SOO hard. I do NOT like to create or have enemies; I was told to never burn bridges.

It’s SO easy to get angry, pissed off and frustrated. I wish I had dealt with it better today. I took the low road, but I’m still going to write about it. I’m not perfect. I know that. I also know I messed up. I don’t like the feeling I get after fighting with something or doing something spiteful; the enemy loves it.

FYI..Text messages are forever, I know, but we always forget right? So much gets misconstrued through texts, which is sadly how most of us communicate with one another. I saw RED today, and instead of seeking God and asking for comfort, asking Him to take away my anger and rage, I went full force on texts back. And yeah, in the moment it felt great. HA HA to the person who wronged me over and over. An eye for an eye.

But in Matthew (5:38-42), Jesus says, “Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.”

Easier said than done? Absolutely. But taking the higher road feels amazing. I remember the last time I forgave someone for doing something absolutely horrific to me (specifically, beating me up at a bar). I could have pressed charges; ruined her potential career future; instead I talked to God about the situation and He turned my heart. I forgave her; and she couldn’t comprehend it. Humans aren’t used to Godly ways; we are used to hatred and sin.

We are all brothers and sisters, meant to love each other. Instead, our world is so full of hatred. I don’t do well with sarcasm or people who hate on others; I enjoy kindness and genuine people.

For about an hour of my day today, which felt like most of it, was filled with ANGER. and HATRED. and DISGUST. and RAGE. towards the two people in my group message; my roommates until I leave for California. One was my best friend prior to a horrible night back in February when she left me abandoned in the snow, bruised and bleeding. That night, I forgave her, but I still have never been able to forget it or move past it. I’ve tried. But I don’t see that as a friend. I would have carried my friend home in that situation. I would’ve bent over backwards for them. Especially knowing how I suffer with depression and suicidal tendencies. But I know God will eventually release me of this memory and pain I still hold on to.

Back to original content of this post, the text messages from all 3 of us were just filled with spite. They are so angry and upset that I’m moving out out the apartment early; meanwhile I am doing my very best to find a friend of mine to take my room.

God is CALLING me to HIM. I am meant to go to California and Encounter Him. Learn more; learn to speak better to crowds; have my heart more open and vulnerable. This is my time. There is nothing here for me, and that is evident. I have been miserable, and this is a chance of a lifetime.

For them to view it as anything else just really hurts me. I know after my journey I will forget about this and forgive them in my heart and have new friends who share the same faith as me and have compassion, but until then, I have to ask God every single second in this apartment to help me. Help me with the tension, the attitudes, the NEGATIVE energy that is draining my soul.

I’m gonna write an update on this soon. The situation, the anger, all of it. This time, I’m going to try it God’s way; not the worldly sinful spiteful way. And I bet I won’t be upset and it won’t ruin my day next time.

Why is Being Worldly Considered Cool?

At 27-years-old, I partook in things the world and culture deemed to be “cool”. Sex, drinking, college parties, occasionally trying drugs, etc. Hooking up culture, not caring, smoking cigarettes, popping pills, being “too cool for school”. Having an attitude, cursing people out, cutting people out of my life. Making my life look soooo exciting and awesome on social media. Obsessing over likes; Obsessing over materialistic things JUST to get likes. Sound familiar?

Reflecting back on my life, I don’t know why or how I ever thought that was okay.  What most people don’t know is what comes from these things. Unhappiness. Depression. Anxiety. Fear. Unwanted pregnancies. STDs. Drug addiction. Alcohol addiction. Accidental overdoses. Having a reputation for something you don’t want to be known as or for; or maybe you did; maybe the attention is what you longed for. I know I did.

I have a really long history of things I’ve tried and done, but now I couldn’t be happier where I am. I was never a true Christian. And there are days where small stupid satan rears his ugly head back in and whispers lies in my ears. Those days are the hardest for me as a new Christian. I can’t wait to get to that point in my relationship with God where he can’t come near me.

There have been MANY times, God has saved me from suicide. I mean….. I’m still here. I don’t know how…. but my attempts never worked. Knowing God needs me here, and that He has a plan for my life, a job for me, keeps me in check.

My blog on perception vs perspective was insightful to me; I thought about patience. I need to wait. I need to learn and lesson. I can’t jump or run away the second satan comes near me. I need to call out to God. That’s the only way he’ll vanish. I need to remember that next time a day like yesterday rolls around.

I have lived in peace, happiness, positivity since becoming a Christian. I hate to say I’ve been slowly drifting back to where I was before. An excuse for church; an excuse for connect group; an excuse to read the Bible 5 minutes a day. But I find myself so bored with all the time I have in a day. TV is really no longer a big interest of mine (asides from Game of Thrones).

What I will say to new Christians like myself, is take the next step. Majority of new Believers get sucked back into old ways and habits; I slowly was. Get out of your comfort zone! I finally decided I’m going to try it God’s way, and go to California for a few months. I’m going to be staying at a camp-like place where you have daily lessons on the Bible, learn more how to pray and Encounter the Lord, and further your spiritual gifts. I CAN’T wait!!!!!!!

Perception vs. Perspective

When I created my first blog, everyday I would rush home from work and write down all my thoughts and experiences of the day. I became obsessed; and it became overbearing. I would check google analytics and the stats on my phone constantly, looking for comments and views. Eventually, my friends and family started reading it, which I was cool with. But then I thought, wouldn’t it just be awesome to write freely and anonymously? To speak open and honest and be real with myself; without judgement from anyone in my life? That isn’t to say one day I won’t be comfortable sharing it, but it takes time.

I wasn’t sure what to blog about today since it was just your standard Friday post-work afternoon, but is there any feeling greater than that?!

Perception is the way you understand; it’s the way you comprehend and perceive things.  It’s also that part of you that has intuition. While your attitude and point of view is perspective.

At first I decided this post would be dedicated to compiling a list of my greatest achievements, challenges, mistakes, and failures that I’ve overcome. I recommend you try doing it too! It can spin a negative experience into a more positive and beneficial perspective.

I got off track, clearly, but ultimately, this post centers around perspective and perception; the differences and similarities. Your perception is shaped by your perspective. If you change your perspective, you can change your thoughts.

Your thoughts become your words; your words become actions; your actions become behavior; your behavior is who you are.

My mom told me this growing up, “What you say, you’ll have”. I think it’s so important to think positive. I’m not a happy-go-lucky person, (obviously), but I do believe being realistic but positive is the best way to think. Why think about the worst case scenario? Although that is what our brain is trained to do (fight or flight reflex), it never happens. Never.

Even if you have to fake it at first, it slowly changes your perception of things. Your perspective on life can then change as well.

In terms of my achievements, I don’t compare to anybody in my family. I’m not an athlete; I’m not a genius; I don’t make millions of dollars and I don’t have the life of the party personality. Majority of my life, I felt like the black sheep looking in. Ivy leaguers, news anchors, google software engineers, Wall Street traders, owners of businesses and non-profits; I’m just your average person. But throughout the last two months I’ve grown to believe I’m more than that. And so are you. Nobody is average unless they want to be and settle to be. Everyone has an interesting life, no matter what your story is.

So, back to the original question, greatest achievement…. Maybe graduating college, honestly. I always hated school. I hated tests, the pressure and anxiety. In terms of challenges, failures, and mistakes I’ve made, that list can go on for days (not kidding). But I have learned that when you come to a certain age, which is different for everyone, you mature. For me, when I turned 25, I was tired of the whole partying hooking up drinking scene. I couldn’t stand people who “just wished they could go back to college.”

Life is more than that. It’s the sum of your entire years, entire experiences, relationships, love, achievements, failures, mistakes, dreams… I don’t regret things. I used to, but there’s no point. What’s done is done, and there can always be a lesson learned from a mistake.

Not having protected sex leads to either an STD or a pregnancy; it’s like playing Russian roulette. I learned the hard way. At 21 I had an abortion. Something inside me knew it was a boy; I can’t wait to meet him in Heaven. I love him so much and all I want to do is be with him and apologize and say how sorry I am.

I used to cut; sometimes the thought will cross my mind when I’m really in a crisis mode. But cutting yourself as a cry for help isn’t beneficial; you live with those scars forever. And sometimes, it can scare people off….. Big time. I don’t remember the last day I went without wearing coverup on my wrists, thighs, and wearing massive bracelets or long sleeves. But I don’t regret it, because I might not be here today had I not cried out for help. From God.

If your perspective on life is that it sucks, it’s boring, it’s a tiring routine, depressing, etc., then you’re not thinking clear. You get one shot at this; make it the best you can! Be your happiest; think positive; be nice to people, and you will be rewarded.

My way of looking at things now is that it only gets better. If you’ve hit rock bottom, you can only go up. I challenge you to change your perspective.
